Lounge on the Farm coming soon

MERTON Farm in Canterbury will be hosting for this year’s Lounge on the Farm music festival for a fifth time. The event will take place from 9 until 11 of July.

There are already 70 acts and bands that confirmed their performances. Under them are Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, Toots & The Maytals, Dj Yoda, Corthey Pine and Slow Club.

This year for a first time the audience will have the chance to give their votes online for who they would like to see during the festival. Bands from all across Kent will be registering in the next month on www.yousaytheyplaylotf.co.uk so people can listen to the entrants and cast their vote on the same webpage.

The festival will offer not only live music shows and there is going to be a brand new comedy tent, featuring local talents and the award-winning Underbelly Comedy promoters. People will also be able to enjoy theatre performances, cabaret, burlesque, drama and musicals.

In between performances visitors will have the chance to taste freshly made food cooked with organic ingredients from the heart of the Garden of England. One will be able to choose from a rich menu which will include homegrown Lamb Kebabs, local ice cream, cheeses, Pie & Mash, home made cider and much more.

Last year, Merton Farm’s festival won an award for best line up during the UK Festival Awards 2009. The Guardian announced it as Best Music Festival for Foodies and The Daily Telegraph voted it among the Top 20 Summer Festivals of 2009.

Tickets start from £40. Visit www.loungeonthefarm.co.uk for more information.
